The number of detected cases of counterfeit electronic components is decreasing. The systematic implementation of counterfeit detection tests, from the broker to the component user, is a major factor in this. As a result the sector has been cleaned up, with the rejection rates observed at the end user level having fallen from 25% to 15% in a few years. Supplier rating and selection, certifications, integrated test laboratory... as the broker's profession has evolved this has led to a shift over the years from the status of pure trader to that of partner supplier.
