Nuclear and defense market

Tame-Component

Nuclear and defence

The nuclear and defence industrial sector covers security products and services. It meets a double challenge: the protection of companies, citizens as well as the resilience of the State. Nuclear and defence are demanding sectors that require reliable electronics that are available over long periods of time.

The nuclear and defence market installs devices or systems that carry out functions such as :

  • observation,
  • analysis,
  • detection,
  • access control,
  • protection,
  • alert,
  • intervention,
  • communication.

Market challenges

Security is a field of excellence and one of the most productive in terms of exports. It brings together large groups, world leaders, SMEs and major exporters and research laboratories. Despite these positive indicators, the industry is facing major challenges in terms of growth.

First of all, the security field is characterised by the convergence of economic problems and sovereignty issues.

Indeed, given the very important economic potential that this sector represents, especially for exports, there is a requirement to protect sovereignty.

In order to cope with the economy’s digital transformation, the protection of digital tools and data must be guaranteed by the French European trust incentives.

In light of the emergence of the Internet of Things, these two considerations are all the more relevant.

The large number of connected objects are a source of great economic opportunity but they are an additional risk for security because they increase the scope of potential attacks.

Taking this risk into consideration, it is necessary for companies to position themselves as leaders in disruptive technologies and their security applications: artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, and on more conceptual approaches, which can lead to new, more secure systems.
